Driven by a fresh enthusiasm in timeless design, workmanship, and sustainability, the market for vintage furniture and decor has experienced a comeback. This case study centers on Berlin's L'oeil Vintage - vintage furniture store, which transformed its love of well chosen, distinctive pieces into a profitable enterprise.

L'oeil Vintage first limited its reach and faced difficulties presenting its whole collection since it depended just on Instagram to show and market products.

Under a UX/UI bootcamp project, two designers worked to construct a website during the first week and then returned in the second week to produce a mobile app based on the first project.

The Transition of L'oeil Vintage to Digital

Nestled in the middle of Berlin, L'oeil Vintage specializes in providing well chosen vintage furniture and décor that capture character and history. The initiative aimed to keep faithful to its original character while improving the digital presence of the store. Previously limited to Instagram, its appeal became evident in the requirement of a practical and interesting digital platform.

Our two-designer team's task was to create a user-friendly website in the first week in order to build a strong online presence.

Build on this basis by creating a second week supplementary mobile app providing a flawless on-the-go buying experience.

Aim Audience

The following groups were supposed to find resonance in the digital solutions:

  • New clients enticed by L'oeil Vintage's distinctive offers are those who have never heard of it before.

  • Design aficionados seeking unique items and driven about interior design.

  • Professional interior designers looking for unique furniture and décor for their projects.

  • Vintage collectors of furniture that appreciate unique, historically important objects.

Investigating and Methodology

Our study period consisted in the following approaches:

  • Lean UX Canvas: To specify user categories, business issues, and intended results.

  • Conducted with consumers and the shop owner, surveys and interviews help one better grasp demands, preferences, and problem concerns.

  • Examined market trends and found chances to set L'oeil Vintage apart.

Important revelations exposed the need of excellent images, thorough product information, and easy navigation for a good user experience. These results informed the design of the website and mobile app.
